I suspect this article is *probably* an April Fool's joke.
However, the fact that it may not be satire (I am being totally serious) speaks volumes about some of the other content I've seen publicly posted on that website.
I think it would be pretty easy to set the text to a "contemporary" avant garde choral setting full of open chords, pedal tones and unresolved dissonances. Perhaps even a quotation from the opening notes of Star Trek on the word "space" and then of course whispering sprechstimme on "silence sounding". It practically writes itself.
I absolutely would have taken that as serious, if Ruff hadn't spilled the beans. I'd say it's meant to be an April Fool's joke, with a sting in the tail for trads.
