Propers for religious perpetual profession of vows - set to music

    Dear All,
    I will make perpetual vows at the beginning of January. Instead of an opening hymn and communion hymn, I'd like to use the Propers: Introit and Communion Antiphon. All in English. In the Missal they give the antiphons, but no musical setting. And in the case of the Communion Antiphon, I don't know which Psalm verses from which Psalm to use. For the Introit, I assume the Psalm verses come from the same Psalm as the Antiphon. Here is what is in the Missal:

    Entrance Antiphon Cf. Ps 40 (39): 8-9
    Behold, I come, O Lord, that I may do your will.
    O my God, I have vowed it,
    and your law lies deep within me (E.T. alleluia).

    Communion Antiphon Gal 2: 19-20
    I am crucified with Christ
    yet I live, no longer I,
    but Christ lives in me (E.T. alleluia).

    1) Does anyone know of existing musical settings for these, with antiphon and verses?
    2) If there aren't existing musical settings, how could I adapt something from the past? I haven't been able to find Latin musical settings for these either.
    3) Any suggestions for me?

    The Missal 'antiphon' texts have no associated music in Latin, and you may have difficulty finding any in English. Better to choose from the wide variety of other choices, described here:
    GIRM 48. - ... In the Dioceses of the United States of America there
    are four options for the Entrance Chant: (1) the antiphon from the Missal[,] or the antiphon with its Psalm from the Graduale Romanum as set to music there or in another setting; (2) the antiphon and Psalm of the Graduale Simplex for the liturgical time; (3) a chant from another collection of Psalms and antiphons, approved by the Conference of Bishops or the Diocesan Bishop, including Psalms arranged in responsorial or metrical forms; (4) another liturgical chant that is suited to the sacred action, the day, or the time of year, similarly approved by the Conference of Bishops or the Diocesan Bishop.
    Note my addition [,] because the GIRM(US) seems to imply, wrongly, that there is official music and verses. GIRM 87 shows the same options for the Communion.
    Others may identify settings from GR for you, the Graduale Simplex settings in English can be found in, for example, By Flowing Waters by Paul F. Ford.

    Simple choral settings by Aristotle Esguerra, from Graduale Simplex.
    The Introit is My eyes are always on the Lord with Ps.25/24 from the Third Sunday of Lent.
    Communion either Seek ye first the kingdom of God with Ps. 37/36 from the third setting for Ordinary Time, or O help me, Lord with Ps.119/118 from the sixth setting for OT.
    I would emphasise that these are among the choices of official Propers (unlike options 3 & 4 quoted above, which are legitimate but not Proper).

    Laudate Dominum Communion Antiphons includes some of the 11 options from GR such as 11th Sunday OT.
    Another is 26th Sunday OT.
    Or there is 31st Sunday OT

    I don't think he wants other options... he wants the antiphons he mentioned to be set to music (or to be informed of how to do so himself), if not readily available.

    I am unclear what 'Proper' means in relation to sung English in the USA. In England&Wales it would not currently be licit to sing the Missal 'antiphons' either in Latin or in English.
    In OF + Latin + elsewhere the sung Propers are from GR or GS and there is a choice, including those I have listed*. In Latin the Missal 'antiphona' is not to be sung, and has no verses associated with it (and thus is not antiphonal).
    *There are eight other Communions in GR but I have not found English settings of these.

    The GR entrance chants that are easily found: Lent Sunday 2 Tibi dixit ..., and OT sunday 30 Laetetur cor .... The other two are the second option for the Vigil of Pentecost, and Tuesday of Lent week 5, I have not found settings of those.

    I didn't know the Mass Propers are taken from the GR or GS. I thought they came from the Missal. Thanks for your comments. I'll use the GR or GS.

    The options available everywhere are GR or GS. In the United States, the Missal antiphons (entrance and communion) may also be used, but one cannot assume that they've been all set to music by anyone.

    Propers for a religious profession are on page 647 of the GR (many choices!); on page 385 of the GS. If you'd like an English translation of the GS, see "By Flowing Waters" (p. 289). The GR and GS can be downloaded from the "resources" page at musicasacra.com . BFW is published by Liturgical Press.
