Choir School seeks Academic Principal
  • The Madeleine Choir School, a mission of The Cathedral of the Madeleine, seeks an Academic Principal to serve as Instructional Leader for approximately 425 students from diverse backgrounds in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. Serving collaboratively with a leadership team under the direction of the Pastoral Administrator, the successful candidate will support the school’s excellent instruction in mathematics and the sciences, with demonstrated proficiency and success in improving student achievement in the curricular areas of writing and reading. She/he will have had experience leading a learning community in programs for character formation and behavior management, and must be willing to embrace the vision of a Choir School as an agent of liturgical renewal and support the school’s integral role in the Cathedral’s life of worship. The Choir School is committed to enhancing its diverse and welcoming environment, and desires to strengthen its significant outreach program to Hispanic students from the Cathedral parish and beyond. Established in 1996, the school has a 2.5 acre campus with five buildings, and recently completed a $6.8 million restoration of its main classroom building. Position available June 15, 2018.
