Holy Cross Catholic Church is seeking a talented part-time organist to accompany two choirs and play at approximately two Masses each weekend. In addition to possessing excellent communication and a solid understanding of the Roman Catholic liturgy, highly qualified applicants should also be able to improvise and have strong sight reading skills. Responsibilities include: Accompany the Chancel Choir (weekly Wednesday night rehearsals and Sunday morning Mass) Accompany the Schola Cantorum (weekly Sunday evening rehearsals and Mass about once a month) Accompany Masses sung by cantors Accompany additional Masses as needed The music repertoire at Holy Cross ranges from hymnody and Gregorian Chant to motets by Victoria, Philips, Elgar, Duruflé, Gjeilo, and others.
