As a composer of authentic sacred music (to be employed for the Mass), I strongly believe that the text is ALWAYS without exception the primary object of the art. The music should always be subservient to the text. This is why sound effects, musical gymnastics, and operatic styles are foreign to the modus operandi of sacred music.
