An Abomination

The Spanish hymnals I've come across, such as Flor y Canto, are unspeakably horrific from the standpoint of melody, syncopation, etc. I had high hopes for the recent GIA publication "Oramos Cantando" but it's barely nicer than Flor y Canto, and consists mainly of Spanish translations of typical OF songs, like "Lead me, guide me" and "The king of glory comes" and stuff like that: blech.
What about Spain? Does Spain have any decent hymnals, such as Anglicans have ("Hymns Ancient & Modern" & "New English Hymnal") or Catholics have in books like the New Westminster Hymnal?Thanked by 1eft94530 -

That's why our Puerto Rican bishop forbade many of the Spanish language hymns used at Spanish Masses in our diocese. I don't know if our current bishop has rescinded that.
