Requiem - Walsingham and The Rev. James T. Moore -
  • The Rev. James T. Moore, PhD.
the first pastor of Walsingham, and a close friend of mine since we met in 1962 has died.

He was called from this world on the 11 September 2017.
Evensong for the dead will be sung tomorrow (Thursday) at 7.00pm.
The requiem, with Bishop Lopes celebrating, will be at 10.30am Friday.

    Your prayers are solicited.

Fr. Moore was a brilliant man,
and the ordinariate has lost one of a small cadre of priests and laity without whose efforts it may not have become reality.

It was under his pastorate that the present cathedral was built in the style of a typical XIVth century English parish church by the architectural successors of Ralph Adams Cram. He personally designed the tabernacle, which is a representation of the Ark of the Covenant bearing on its doors the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. With a PhD. in American history, he has several books to his credit, including an account of the French missionaries in colonial Canada, and a history of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston which was commissioned by Archbishop Fiorenza.

May he rest in peace and angels bear his soul to heaven.
