Position: Cantor and section leader
Location: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Lake Ridge, VA
Typical weekly commitment: Sunday 8:30AM - 1:45PM. Thursday 6:30-9PM.
Duration: August 2017 - July 2018, possibly renewable in August 2018

Description:

Duties include

• singing for three Sunday Masses (9AM, 10:45AM, 12:30PM) either as cantor or chorister (when the choir sings)
  
• no rehearsals during the summer; extra rehearsals and Masses around Christmas and Easter
  
• if available, singing for major weekday solemnities and other occasions as they arise
  
• right of first refusal as cantor for weddings and funerals
  

Repertoire for 9AM & 10:45AM Masses includes hymns and (mostly English) chant. With the choir, there may be additional music drawn from the Church's rich treasury of choral music. Repertoire for 12:30 Mass consists of a Gregorian ordinary and the propers as they appear in the Graduale Triplex.

A good candidate need not be proficient in Gregorian chant from the start, but must be willing to delve into it and work toward a high level of proficiency.
