Opportunity: Vibrant suburban parish seeks a Director of Music who appreciates and seeks to implement a variety of types of music (e.g. Contemporary, Praise & Worship and Traditional), will be privileged to work with many talented musicians: including Brass Ensemble, Bell Choir, Praise and Worship Mass musicians, many instrumentalists and cantors, an Adult Choir, and Children’s Choir. We are looking for a candidate who is proficient with choral conducting, organ and piano, and will integrate chant, polyphony, modern choral works. The successful candidate will supervise the music staff, including Junior High Choir Director, the 6pm Sunday Praise and Worship Mass musicians and volunteers.
Job Description: To implement the pastors’ overall vision and then to plan, coordinate, assist and manage liturgical music for the parish and school community. To serve as a leader and resource to all departments in the parish, all councils, committees, commissions, volunteers and Music Ministry staff. All functions performed in adherence to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church and in such a way as to support and must be consistent with St. Hubert Catholic Community’s Mission

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Music; a Master’s is desirable. Knowledgeable and experience in sacred music and the sacramental practices of the Catholic Church; Roman Catholic Liturgy, traditions and rituals. Must take an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. Experience and training in music teaching skills. Proficiency with playing organ and piano. Demonstrates effectively and collegially working with others. Demonstrates ability to make decisions. Demonstrates ability to work without supervision. Able to direct and supervise others. Able to pass required background check and complete required initial training.
