Which Mass setting & Credo is used for Easter to Pentecost for Mass in EF?
  • Can one of you experts in Mass in Extraordinary Form tell me which Mass setting and Credo are sung for Easter through Pentecost Sunday? Thank you for your help!

Many use Mass I (often with Credo I).
I like to use Mass I + Credo IV.

Mass I and Credo I, are suggested in the books produced by Solesmes, but you can choose something else... We sing Kyrie ad lib 1 (with the rest of Mass 1) on Easter Sunday, sometimes Low Sunday, the Vigil of Pentecost, and sometimes Pentecost Sunday.

Of course a polyphonic setting would also be appropriate...
  • Mass I and Credo III -- since, in spite of my repeated suggestions, my choirmaster uses only Credo I and Credo III.

Mass 1. We'll be doing Credo 3 because it's the one everyone knows and it's up in the rotation (we do 1,3 and 4) Griesbacher Missa Rosa Mystica on Quasimodo (I like to start the season with the seasonal Mass, and if you're going to do something fancy, why not on "low" Sunday when you aren't competing with the entire world for musicians, and not exhausted by the Triduum?) We'll being doing 13 too, a nice Ordinary that gets ignored.
