Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Littleton, CO is searching for a paid tenor section leader.
This job requires a strong singer in the Renaissance style and good sight reading abilities. You'll be leading several tenors who have minimal experience and you will be required to sing and blend as part of a quartet at times with other section leaders. OLMC is staffed by members of the FSSP and therefore all our masses are in the Extraordinary form. Our primary focus is on Gregorian Chant of the Liber Usualis, polyphony of the High and Low renaissance, and Catholic hymns.
Since our focus is on the EF, even a moderate knowledge of Gregorian notation is a plus.
This is a part time position with NO BENEFITS and the pay is approx $50.00 per call with occasional weekday and Saturday evening masses; average yearly is $4000.00-$4500.00. Schedule is yearly with a one month break from July 17 through August 20th. All masses needing attendance outside of Sundays are agreed upon with each section leader. Occasional days off are negotiated with the director, there are NO paid holidays.
