St. Stephen Catholic Church is a growing parish in a quiet South East Portland neighborhood. The parish offers a liturgically and sacramentally based outreach, considering the Liturgy as its primary means of evangelization, celebrating the Mass in both the Ordinary and the Extraordinary Form and exemplifying the "mutual enrichment" desired by Pope Benedict XVI in his motu proprio Summorum Pontificum. The Sacred Liturgy in both forms is celebrated ad orientem. The parish is family orientated and is becoming popular with young families who appreciate the reverent and traditional style of our liturgical celebrations. It has active men's and women's groups, young adult groups and many altar servers. Further information is available at our parish website: http://www.saintstephenpdx.com/
Time commitment varies according to the needs of the season but a current estimate is anything between 15 and 25 hours a week. As the parish develops further in exemplifying the beauty of the Roman Rite in both its Ordinary and Extraordinary Forms, and if choirs increase in size and number, scope exists for more hours in the future.
