Adult singers (college-age and beyond) in all voice parts are welcome to become part the Cathedral Choir at the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet, Illinois. Cathedral Choir members maintain an active schedule of midweek and Sunday morning rehearsals from September through early-June, and generally sing at the 11:00am Sunday Mass, as well as numerous diocesan liturgies throughout the year. Advanced singers with strong sight-reading, tuning, and musicianship skills are invited to join the Cathedral Choral Scholars as well.
Repertoire includes a diverse array of music from Gregorian Chant and Renaissance Polyphony to major choral works by Handel, Faure, Rutter, and works composed specifically for the Cathedral choir. Please visit the following link for the tentative 2016-2017 repertoire: http://straymond.net/media/1/16/Cathedral Choral Repertoire 2016-2017.pdf.
Ample free parking is available on the Cathedral campus. We are a friendly, welcoming group with a strong sense of family and community in our choral ensembles.
