    The former (Beautiful Savior) is the final stanza of the latter (Fairest Lord Jesus).

    It's an example, along with All People That On Earth Do Dwell/Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow, of a hymn text where the first stanza can be reversed from the stanza. Anyone have a list of those hymn texts?

    This is often done with the longer Latin hymns of the Office, too.
