Music Director - St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Concord, CA
The Music Director oversees music programs for the entire parish and is responsible for music at all liturgical celebrations. Has specific responsibility for music at the following English Masses: Sat. 5:30 pm, Sunday 10:00 am, 11:30 am, and 5:30 pm. and their choirs. Provides leadership and guidance to the Spanish choirs that sing at following Masses: Sun. 8:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. Provides music at special liturgical Masses as required. Proficient piano and organ player. Responsible for the Adult English Choirs and Children’s Choirs. Provides guidance to and collaborates with the leaders of the Spanish and FIL/AM choirs.
Works with Pastor and Pastoral Associate in planning for liturgy, including co-chairing Liturgy Committee meetings. Takes primary responsibility for planning and implementation of special liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Attends Pastor’s staff meetings. Available for weddings and funerals as needed, and is compensated directly.
Bilingual in Spanish is desired but not required.
Salary Information: Salary commensurate with education/experience and in accordance the Diocese of Oakland M-3 Ministry Staff (Exempt) Job Classification. This is a 40 hour per week position.
