Knox!??? but no 'Authorised Version'??? (that's King James for the uninitiated.)

And, since Richard brought it up - could someone state the variances betwixt the Challoner and the 'real' Douai-Rheims? I have the Challoner. Am I missing something that I shouldn't want to miss? Too, this will probably bruise someone's toes, but I have always thought that the King James was more than a little bit more artful, rhythmic, graceful, in a higher register, and so on, than the Douai-Rheims. I've heard it said that that King James' committee of literati of a more scholarly bent than the men responsible for the Douai-Rheims. Is there anything to this? The Douai-Rheims just doesn't seem, at least to me, to have the grace, the cachet, that the 'Authorised Version' has. And, I say this without bias.

I might be off, but I believe the original D-R is more slavish translation of the Latin, which Challoner revised, borrowing often from the AV. Here's a passage (Eph 2:1-4) for comparison; I've thrown in the RSV and NAB as well since it is interesting to see.

Vulgate (apologies if my browser has "corrected" the spelling):
