German language Missal?

I am now studying abroad in Austria for a semester. I have run into the Austrian bishops' official hymnal and missal, the Gotteslob. It's basically a Latin-German equivalent to the Adoremus Hymnalon steroids.

Anyways, the book's text is that of the third Missale Romanum, in both languages. Was the revised German language missal eventually promulgated, or did the book come out before the missal was indefinitely shelved in late 2013? We Americans when we sing the Sanctus in German use the MR1/2 version, which bears little obvious resemblance to the Latin or even revised English, since the revised German uses more cognates and derivative words from Latin as well as Hosannafrom Hebrew.

So far as I am aware, the revised German translation remains stillborn.

Well, now that I've been across the pond longer... The Austrians outside of Vienna don't seem to use MR3, wherease the Viennese do. The clue for me was the differing versions of the Sanctus.
  • Matthew, I'm just curious, are you in Gaming? I studied there in 2008. Austria is so beautiful!
