FYI on this topic, there's an prayer campaign for Christians in Iraq and Syria--please join in prayer. Here's the info I received via Diocese of Arlington:
The Chaldean Diocese of Saint Thomas the Apostle in the United States is in the midst of a 33 day rosary crusade to ease the sufferings of the Christians in the Middle East, especially in Iraq and Syria. The Patriarch in Baghdad has joined this initiative. Bishop Francis Kalabat here in the US has asked us to join in the final nine days of this prayer, from January 25th to February 2nd.
Granted, this request comes at the last minute. But since most every parish has a group that prays the rosary before or after Mass, perhaps the easiest way to join this effort would be to ask those faithful to include the intention in their prayers. Any other ways you can invite your parishioners to unite their prayers to those of our Chaldean brethren would be welcome.
