I am glad to see an article about the Orchestral Mass in Sacred Music this winter, particularly one which shifts the emphasis of that repertoire from the multi-movement missa longa to the more compact styles of concertato Mass settings, and then the use of these settings presented in a positive light, weighing the merits for the use of these venerable settings in Sacred Liturgy, rather than repeating a blanket prohibition.

I am also very glad to see the music of Antonio Salieri being taken seriously and presented as worthy additions to the standard repertoire, worthy, indeed, to stand beside the music of Mozart and the Haydn Brothers.
