Cathedral of St. Joseph, Jefferson City, MO., a parish of 1,500 families, seeks a Director of Music.

Responsibilities of the full time position include oversight of the music program, training and scheduling of musicians and cantors, director of a 40 member adult choir, serving as accompanist or choir director for two of our four Masses each weekend, additional diocesan Masses and services as necessary, participation in pastoral staff committees and other duties.

Qualifications should include a minimum of a bachelor's degree in music, music education or a comparable field; a minimum of five (5) years' experience as an adult choir director in a church setting; competent organ and piano skills, experience directing both traditional and contemporary liturgical music and knowledge of current Catholic worship rituals.

Applicants must be able to work effectively with volunteers and have strong pastoral, organizational and interpersonal skills.
