A New Hymn for Christ the King
  • Actually, a new hymn tune for a very old hymn. It's Edward Caswall's 1848 translation of Jesu Rex admirabilis, a Latin Office hymn (text in the public domain).

It might work well as a post-communion, or even as a choral anthem.

  • This is sort of nice. It hath about it the sedate feel of some English renaissance tunes: Gibbons, maybe? I especially like your 'amen'.

I like it too. David Hogan's SAB anthem used the LBW alterations with "you" for "thee", causing some to understand v3 as "Thou may'st our tongues forever bless".
