Annunciation Catholic Church is accepting new members into the parish schola, which sings at an 11am Latin/OF Mass every Sunday as well as occasional evening EF Masses. Repertoire includes Gregorian propers, “Simple Latin Propers” of Richard Rice, Roman and Anglican polyphony, and more. The church building is one of Houston’s best rooms (acoustically and visually!) for singing. All is accompanied by a vintage 1924 Pilcher organ that is undergoing much-needed renovation.
Repertoire this Sunday is:
Prelude: Gerald Near, “Requiem æternam”
Introit: Cristóbal de Morales, from Requiem à 4
Mass XVIII
Offertory & Communion: Graduale Romanum
Hymns: “There’s a wideness in God’s mercy” (IN BABILONE), “Lord and God, devoutly” (ADORO TE)
