Graduale simplesx and other alleluias
  • Are there practice recordings of the graduale simplex alleluias anywhere?

Are you talking about the alleluia antiphons? If so, we use them every week (with vernacular GA verse). All of our Masses since Lent V 2014 are online:

We usually (though not always) follow the selection of Alleluia as found in the Lumen Christi Missal (which selects a threefold Alleluia from Simplex in the same mode as the Gregorian alleluia of the day). So if there's a specific one you're looking for, you could probably find it with some research.

That's great, matthewj! Are your worship aids on-line for people wanting to make that research?

Yes... but it takes some talent...

    Take this URL:
    http://simonjude.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/109669worshipaid08242014.pdf

And change the date at the end to the appropriate date (109669worshipaid08242014.pdf becomes 109669worshipaid08312014.pdf, etc...)

Matt, that first link gave me pause . . . I opened it and in the entrance antiphon I read, "Turn your CAR, O Lord."

    You progressives and your modernizations . . . ; )

Sounds like a good progressive homily... "What type of car would Jesus drive if he were around in 2014?"

  • Ahem. Jesus would have something with four wheel drive to go after the sheep who can drive a simple conversation so far off track!! :-)
