St. James Cathedral in Seattle, Washington has an opening for an Assistant Organist. This entry level position is a regular, full time position which will entail approximately ½ time as an organist and ½ time in administrative duties in the Music Office. Salary range of $38,000-42,000 DOE.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum B.M. or equivalent in organ. M.A. or M.M. preferred. Performance experience required (part time acceptable, full time experience not required.)

SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Experience service playing skills
• Working knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy, familiarity with chant accompaniment.
• Skilled sight reading, keyboard harmony, and accompanying competencies.
• Good command of organ repertoire
• Basic improvisation skills with potential for development.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite and basic computer skills.
