    Here is John Mason Neale's translation of the Christmas hymn A solis ortus cardine (stanzas 1-7 & a Doxology) by Sedulius set to my Long Meter Double hymn tune ST. CROIX. The Latin score is posted further down the thread.

    Thanks! good melody. My usual little nitpicks: iii on bar 2 seems strained ... looks as though you are going out of your way to avoid what would seem natural: a tonic triad on the downbeat. Starting on the dominant also a little odd...
