I have long stated to my choir people and guests who come to mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Littleton that the "door is always open". I would also like make this term public (to the forum). All musicians are most welcome to come and sing with our choir on a Sunday, when you visit Denver, and you wish to sing an EF mass. I never refuse to let people sing in my choir who wish to. We have only a couple of small caveats, occasionally we will sing a small group piece, those musicians are pre-chosen and have practiced it previously with those particular singers. We will usually have only 1 small group piece on any given feast or Sunday. Please, unless there are special occasions where our female schola cantorum sings, only gentlemen with the regular schola. That's it, you need no other qualifications other than a desire to sing. Join us when you're in Denver. http://www.olmcfssp.org/cms/
Yes yes yes. Whenever W and I have traveled o'er the states, we always invite ourselves into the choir (we've never been refused, yahoo.) I even crashed George Rutler's schola at Our Saviour's once, singing the Kyrie 4 of Byrd by memory with the five singers. The organist then motioned me to sidle closer to the schola tenor. That was fun! Anyone in forum coming to CA, and Central Valley, give me a hollar or not, you can still sing with us anytime as well. IM me here.
