    Can anyone recommend a good source for a keyboard reduction for this piece? CPDL has a good open score setting (arr. - Fowler), but without a reduction. I'm hoping not to have to write it out for myself, but I will if I must. Or possibly, does anyone have the capability to, via notation software, condense these parts into a reduction? I'd really appreciate the help.

    Thanks.

  • The Oxford Book of Tudor Anthems has what is apparently a 17th-C. organ part, which, it claims, is incompatible with the viol parts. I've always preferred to play it from the old Novello edition (ed. Wm. Palmer, c. 1957, Anth. # 1330). Here, "the accompaniments to the vv. are a literal transcription of the viol parts." There are also far fewer page turns than in Oxford!

    Comparing against the Fowler,
    this NCAB version has organ accompaniment continuous throughout on two line staff below SAATB;
    m1-m2 organ as in Fowler,
    m3 alto enters with organ as in Fowler,
    m10 organ varies from Fowler (bass=de-fg-a-a, alto=a-b-e-e),
    m18 choir enters with organ doubling SATB as in Fowler,
    m21 onward
    alto solo line always included in organ with harmony above and below,
    choir accompanied by organ slightly varying from Fowler.
