Westminster Cathedral Psalm Tones
  • Hello All,
I'm looking for info about the psalm tones used at Westminster Cathedral (London) for the Divine Office and responsorial psalm singing during Mass.

I've listened to some recordings in which they use a modified form of the gregorian tones when chanting in English. I would be really curious to know how they have modified the tones, because it just sounds so much better (and less awkward) then trying to adapt the English texts without any modifications to the tones.

Not sure what they use there, but here's a great set of adaptations of the Gregorian tones.

Andrew, if you google "Graduale Parvum", you'll find them in that PDF. You just have to look, but I believe the tones are like 2/3s of the way through. Hope that helps!
