My son 'facebooked' me the other day and asked me to post the picture from my high school yearbook of which he said my 'long hair was awesome". Found it, posted it. Here it is.
One of the lesser (but still notable) reasons for my admiration of Puccini is the way he always looked immaculately groomed, clad, and shod. He had a healthy scorn for those he called "artists who think they have to have dandruff to be geniuses."
If I'm of a mind, I get one hair cut per year. I've been of mind. I can't actually remember the season of last haircut. I got my latest issue of ATLANTIC MONTHLY yesterday, thumbed through and in the literary closing they have a lengthy article on the Jewish "Mark Twain," Sholem Aleichim. It so rocked for me that our hair lengths are identical. It's always been about "product." With hair, good thing. With music...feh.
