"Svatý Vaclave" is this a vesper hymn?
With his feast day coming up, and our parish's patronal Solemnity, I decided to make a rudimentary translation of the St. Wenceslaus chorale. I would love any other ideas for translations.

Liquescent Neumes
For people of both proponents (more consonant sound/ghost vowel), how would one sing the "exercebor" of the communio "Confundantur superbi" (p. 529 GR 1974)? On one hand you can only do so much for flipped r to make it sound. O…

Advice for transitioning to a new hymnal/missal

Advice for transitioning to a new hymnal/missal
Where I am at with it is that I like the Responsorial Psalms/GA of S&S, but I like the Mass Ordinary options of the HM. I am indifferent on the Hymn choices for both hymnals, I like both. I don't know if I can have the best of both worlds, …

Reed organs
I have recently bought a reed organ and I will say that after a while of some use (aka playing it for 15min or more), it sounds more "organ-y". Although, every time I start playing on it initially I cant shake the fact that it sounds like …

Preface to the Graduale Romanum (1974)
I've heard the sequence dilemma explained as that if you are doing the latin gregorian melody (the proper one in the GR) then the sequence should be before, but if you do it in the vernacular and/or to another tune then the sequence should be a…

Novus Ordo Mass with Bishop
Aside from music, every Novus Ordo parish in my area has a 7th candle lit with every Mass with a Bishop, either on the altar or around it. I like how they continue that tradition from the TLM.

Solemnities and Vigils
Since the Assumption of the BVM is a Solemnity, it outranks the Sunday in ordinary time. Both Solemnities and Feasts of the Lord outrank Sundays in Ordinary Time. What I meant by the latter sentance was that the Immaculate Conception or the Annuncia…

Tenebrae service according to the modern LOTH
Does anyone know what gospel reading one would use for the extended vigil? The GILH says take it from the lectionary but there is no Mass on Holy Satuday morning. Would it just be the St. John Gospel?
