Hymn Texts and Hymn Tunes.
  • It has come to my attention that several hymns sung here in Australia are sung to different tunes than what are commonly used in the UK and USA.

For example: "Hail Redeemer, King Divine" we sing to KING DIVINE, but in the UK is sung to ST GEORGE

Another is "Firmly I Believe and Truly" which in Australia is always sung to DRAKE'S BROUGHTON

In the northeast US, Catholics sing that to ST GEORGE'S WINDSOR, the same tune as for Come, Ye Thankful People, Come. DRAKE's BROUGHTON is associated here "See Us, Lord, About Your Altar".

  • In Australia we also sing "See us Lord about your altar" to the same tune.
