  • Now, in your own words, tell how a book from the excellent list above changed, made a difference or affected someone (including yourself) in your own life. These kind of comments can be pure gold for interesting others in taking time to look into them.

In my case, Words With Wings is a gem, especially since Arlene Oost-Zinner can come in and assist in getting it started!

The Catholic Choirbook set is a good publication. I know you don't want to toot your own horn, Noel, but it is worthy of recognition.

    Have I mentioned this already...?
I was named after Adam Cartwright on Bonanza.
As a child, this embarrassed me, so I made believe I was named after Adam West on Batman.

I have no idea how or why I thought that was substantially better.
  • Could've been worse (better?) -- you could be going through life as "Hoss Wood."

Then, really, your folks should have named you "Little Joe." Just sayin' ;-)

Personally the pub that began the change for me was the Parish Book of Chant.
Followed by the SEP and the Simple Choral Gradual. Then the Vatican II hymnal and now the LCM. I also enjoy "why Catholics Can't Sing", "Sing Like a Catholic", and "the Musical Shape of the liturgy". I would live to say the "Parish Book of Psalms" but I'm not allowed to use anything but the Psalms from OCP.

There are worse fates to be encumbered.
