    So I got this personal message in my Forum inbox:

And since after his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of (US$2.5M) Two Million, Five hundred Thousand United States Dollars) in a General Trust Account with a prime bank in Ghana. Presently, this money is still with the bank. Following my ill health, being a victim to cancer, I have decided to donate this fund to a Christian organization (Church or person) that will utilize this fund the way I am going to instruct herein, according to the desire of my late husband. I want this fund to be used in Christian Activities like, Orphanages, Christian schools, and Churches for propagating the word of God and to endeavor that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that "Blessed is the hand that giveth". I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don't want my husband's efforts to be used by unbelievers. I don't want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that "the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace". As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the bank here in Ghana. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and Truth. Please always be prayerful all through your life as well commit me into your daily prayers.     While these scammers are getting more and more sophisticated, this one obviously think born again might mean Catholic....no cigar, fool.. Maybe try Mary 666 the next time?

    Sorry to waste the bandspace (whatever that means) but just wanted to pass the word that the scammers are in town.

    I suppose others have been "blessed" with this...

    Actually, I once got the ad for the penis extender pills. They can't possibly know me that well! LOL. I also got the message from dear Mary 333. She has no idea how cheap I am, and that my first nickel is enshrined in my home.

    Evidently I got mine (there's a new message notice) but Chonak's purge deleted it. Now I can't get the new message notice to go away!

    I found this in my spam folder today as well.

    In regard to the title of this thread, I think it is a testament to those who manage the forum this is the first (and hopefully only time) it has happened. Kudos to the administrators who keep this as secure as possible.

    I think scamming must be reaching a new high. This afternoon, someone called and asked if my computer had been slowing down. I mentioned that I have a computer science degree and although getting older, I know a scam when I hear one. He hung up. A couple of days ago, it was something else. It seems more common lately. Why, I don't know.

    Catholic Choirbook, I noticed in your recent post to another thread, that you are "very busy responding to spam emails...." Have you been engaged in negotiations with mary333? I'd be real interested to know what she has promised you. Funny that your name never came up in my communications with her. I was operating under the impression that my deal with her was exclusive.

    Or were you busy responding to all of those good forum pharmaceutical deals?

    Take a look. I just got the ad for Viagra jelly. Didn't know it came in that form. Who knew? They have a couple of posts for drugs I have never even heard of.

    By the way, for a little fun on this topic, see the "Brad Christensen Exhibit", a collection of e-mail exchanges in which a Mr. Brad Christensen responded to the scammers who sent junk to his mailbox.

    He strung them along with stories as outlandish as their own, and often got them to jump through hoops, travel considerable distances, and make fools of themselves in their efforts to meet up with him.

    Canadash, that scam is probably successful, which is why it's still operating. The scammers count on the fact that most people have no idea how their machines actually operate. Now if I could just get the Tea Party guy to stop calling. LOL.

    Yah, ryand's freebies are even better than the discount coupons that the forum pharmaceutical spammer was offering. I was in the process of inputting the coupon code for one of those performance enhancers, when chonak must have caught on, and deleted the whole bunch of 'em.

    I'm telling 'ya, if something catches your eye, you gotta' be faster than chonak.
