Position Description: The Parish of St. Patrick in Oak Grove, MN is seeking a full-time Director of Music and Liturgy to develop the parish music program and coordinate all liturgical celebrations. Working closely with the pastor, the successful candidate will plan and coordinate the music program for solemnities, daily and weekend Masses, funerals and weddings. Must be skilled in piano and vocal and directing skills. An understanding of Catholic Liturgy is required as well as being a practicing Catholic. Requires advanced music degree in choral conducting or sacred music or comparable education/experience. Salary, benefits commensurate with education/experience. Representative Responsibilities: 1. Prepares all weekend parish Masses including music, works in conjunction with staff and Ministerial Team. 2. Prepares and facilitates the planning of music for all Holy and feast Day celebrations. 3. Facilitates the preparation of music for all wedding and funeral liturgies. 4. Recruits, train and directs Adult Choir members September through May. 5. Recruits, trains and oversees Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, servers, lectors, ushers, greeters and sacristans, environment volunteers. 6. Write articles occasionally for the bulletin, teaching the parish on aspects of the liturgy. 7. Provides direction/vision to Art and Environment Committee.
