The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in historic Charleston, SC is seeking a full-time Director of Music and Liturgy to develop and lead the music program of the Cathedral parish (adult choir, youth choirs and diocesan choir) diocesan events and all parish Masses. Working closely with the Cathedral rector, the successful candidate will plan and coordinate the music program for solemnities, daily and weekend Masses, funerals and weddings. Must be proficient in organ and piano and vocal and directing skills. An understanding of Roman Catholic Liturgy is required as well as being a practicing Catholic. Requires advanced music degree in choral conducting or sacred music or comparable education/experience. Salary, benefits commensurate with education/experience.
