The Cathedral of SS. Simon and Jude is seeking a highly qualified Director of Sacred Music. Preferred candidates will possess a graduate degree or experiential equivalent in sacred music and/or liturgy and possess a strong knowledge of Catholic Church documentation and law regarding liturgy and sacred music, will have strong skills in choral directing and conducting, vocal and choral pedagogy – especially with young voices, organ proficiency, and a repertoire of sacred music in keeping with the mind of the Church. Responsibilities encompass the full range of diocesan and parish life, i.e. regular choir rehearsals, direction and development of the school "Honors Choir", collaboration with volunteer and professional musicians; formation, development, oversight of the Spanish music program of the Cathedral, and assistance in planning events highlighting the sacred arts.
