Attached herewith are the PDF score and an MP3 sound file for my hymn tune McShane Duple, a 77. 77. 77 tune in duple rhythm that was arranged from my 3/2 hymn tune McShane. The present tune is also presented with a variant version which is a little more subdued. If McShane Duple were used for Kathy Pluth's text "Hail the long-awaited Son" (which is the subject of another thread), then the third stanza might well be sung with the variant (for instance, by the choir alone).

Very serene and stately. My husband and I listened to it several times last night and like it very much. I haven't tried setting hymn texts to hymn tunes too much before, but I gather that you look for hymn texts in the same meter that are suitable and simply put them together, is that correct?

Looking through the Anglican Hymnal I see two that work very well:

    Holy Spirit, font of light
    God of mercy

    Would these work?

This is just too much fun. Thanks so much for sharing this.
