Levabis me, - "You will wash me," The future tense is important here.
But then again, I also take issue with the RGP translation of Psalm 51 (50), again due to my familiarity with the Latin text.
On a slightly different matter, I would chant this to Tonus Peregrinus, particularly if it were to be used for a sprinkling rite during Lent. In my mind, this psalm demands that particular tone.
