I enjoy listening to music that is usually very common in old churches and cathedrals throughout europe. It usually contains a choir of men and/or women singing (probably in Latin). I wanted to know how is that type of music called. I came across a defintion of "Gregorian Music", but I am not sure whether that is what I am looking for.
Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony are probably two kinds that you are thinking of. Chant is done all in unison, and the polyphony has several parts or "voices" that weave together in counterpoint. Hence the word poly (many) phony (voices). Hope this helps!
I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for... the video you posted is a compilation of many different pieces and styles of music. The first piece is Ave Maris Stella, a piece of Gregorian Chant.
