Fr. Zuhlsdorf: Great new resource for your new Gregorian chant schola!
  • Fr. John T. Zulhsdorf:

Great new resource for your new Gregorian chant schola!

In his title, "pace" refers to tempo --- not "peace" in Latin. (Anybody else get confused initially?)

He refers to a program that slows the music down... I could use that... Any suggestions? BTW, I prefer apple. Thx!

I would think any standard audio manipulation software could probably do it. Though I've used Adobe Audition extensively at a radio station I interned for, and know that could do it, I use Audacity at home, and I bet it could as well.
  • Yes, Audacity does it in the menu: Effect --> Change Tempo. The value can be positive or negative. Stay in the range +/-25%.

For the fun there is also this menu: Effect --> Change Speed, put a value of 100 and you can hear Gregorian chant as if it was sung by Alvin and the Chipmunks... :-)
