I would like to first start off by introducing myself. I have been a lurker for a while on these forums, and now I actually need to ask a question personally.
There were two parishes where I've been that I have heard use a very beautiful setting of the Magnificat (Song of Mary), and I really fell in love with it. It's arranged as a choral piece in SATB as I recall because I've sung it before when I used to be in the choir a long time ago, but I never kept the music. I don't know who composed it nor know who published it. It's a very beautiful piece, and I know that it's not a paraphrase of the actual prayer, but it is pretty verbatim with the orginal text. I know this is very vague, but does anyone have a clue to what I am talking about? I really want to find the hymn. I'm thinking someone on here must have heard what I am talking about at some time or another in their parish or even used it before.
It sounds like it was composed a long time ago, and I just need to figure out who wrote it and where I can get a copy of it! It's been driving me nuts!
