Liturgia Horarum: Downloadable LotH in Latin (PDF)?
  • I've been searching everywhere online for a downloadable version of the Liturgia Horarum, preferably in PDF format. I've found the full texts available to read online in a stylized reader from almudi.org , and even a free download of the whole thing for a Palm OS which would lead me to believe that it must be legally feasible to be made available in TXT or PDF, or at least outside of a "reader". Does anyone know of such a document?

Many of the hymns of the modern Latin Liturgia Horarum as well as the Psalms and Biblical readings (among other parts) are all copyrighted for many more decades at least It's likely not worth anyone's time to go after the lost revenue, but the content is definitely not public domain.
  • I have found this page very helpful. http://brewiarz.katolik.pl/latin/index.php3

If only I could find the music for it.

  • Here's another source for the texts (also includes weekdays): http://www.almudi.org/Portals/0/docs/Breviario/fuentes/breviario.html (edit: oh, you already knew of this source...)

Here's the music for Sunday Lauds and Vespers: http://www.transitofvenus.nl/LiturgiaHorarum/

  • Where can I find the antiphons/responsories for the office of readings? I can find the final responsories after the second reading in the Liber Hymnarius but that is it.
  • Musical sources for these responsories can be found in the Ordo Cantus Officii, pages 111-113. They are not always identical tot he ones printed in Liturgia Horarum. Like with the Mass, the sung propers are not always identical to the written propers.
Another great resource is the Liber Responsorialis. But still, not all texts from Liturgia Horarum have authentic Gregorian chants associated with them.
