Sheet music: Gaudete, Christus ex natus virgine
  • EDIT: Video here. (Don't usually watch videos like this; just listen.)

Any particular arrangements you'd recommend for a schola only just beginning to sing in multiple parts?

Please delete the above. A few seconds in there is a political ad banner for Ron Paul at the top, and when one clicks on the X to close the banner, it simply transfers to a full fledged 10 minute video ad for Ron Paul.

Political adverts have no place on this forum.

There are a number of worthy editions of this work at Gaudete (Anonymous) at CPDL.

  • We are using the version from Bob Hurd's Ubi Caritas collection (it includes Missa Ubi Caritas). Published by OCP. The nice part is that the collection includes two versions...the original and the simplified version. Both are well done.

For @CHGiffen: since the video was uploaded in 2011, it's possible that the political ad was not from the video's owner. Anyway, when I clicked the "X" to dismiss it, it stayed dismissed.

The Shorter Oxford Book of Carols has a simple arrangement.
