Wedding and Funeral Propers

Does anyone have suggestions for the wedding and funeral propers? Are there any resources that have the texts with melodies assigned to them? We could always chant them using the gregorian modes but if there are chant melodies already prescribed for them - that would be awesome - melodies that are relatively easy to learn since we do allow outside musicians to sing for these liturgies from time to time and they must be able to learn the melodies somewhat easily. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
  • You mean as an alternative to the ones in the Liber Usualis? If the full Gregorian Propers are doable, they can be taken directly from the EF. The only problem is that an OF Requiem outside of Lent requires an Alleluia instead of a Tract, I think. In which case, you'd need to look at an OF book such as the Graduale Romanum or Gregorian Missal.

Have you looked at either Simple English Propers (Wedding and Funerals propers) or By Flowing Waters? Simple English Propers is probably a little harder, but it's free and open source online. If you don't want to buy the book, perhaps Dr. Ford would be willing to post the propers from By Flowing Waters here...
