I just received word that on the 28th sunday of the year we will celbrate the anniversary of the parish : the orations will be taken from the "Dedication of the Church" , but the readings will be for the 28th Sunday cycle B. The schola will sing introit and communion propers. Which propers?
I'd go with Introit and Communion of 28th/B, then adding Communion from Dedication of a Church as a 'commemorative.' IIRC, you cannot change Propers unless the readings are also switched.
I just want to confirm what is mentioned in this post, that you "cannot change Propers unless the readings are also switched". I had found it in writing that you must do the Responsorial Psalm that goes with the readings, but I didn't find anything about the introit, offertory or communio. Does anyone have more information?
If your question concerns an anniversary of dedication, the calendar in the Roman Missal (US 2011) ranks it as a solemnity (pp. 118-119). Solemnities have their own readings and propers. On the other hand, the rubrics allow all propers to be replaced by "another liturgical chant" (p. 30).
