    Sven Edward Olbash of Euouae presents a practical introduction to the 2011 Graduale Novum:
    Responding to the Second Vatican Council's call for a "more critical edition" of chant based on the earliest manuscripts, the International Society for the Study of Gregorian Chant (AISCGre) has produced the 2011 Graduale Novum, containing melodic restitutions based on a re-examinition of the 11th century melodic sources used to prepare the Vatican Edition of 1908, along with the staffless neumes in St. Gall and Laon notation.

    I'm excited to see that so many CMAA forumites are signed up for the workshop.

    You will get the most out of it if you become familiar with the sound of the chants before we look in depth at the notation(s). You can find 8 short examples on the Euouae chant blog for July 10th. They are not perfect performances by any means, but they adequately capture the principles we will be discussing.
