This is what happens when your not quite two year old son grows up sitting on Daddy's lap during weekly Schola practices (and hangs out in the choir loft for Mass).
  • Awesome!!
  • Priceless.
I'm going to send all my "contemporary" cantors and directors this video embedded with a short message:
"Hey, you guys remember 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers" and the flouridation debate?" We've taken the water and placed the pods everywhere. Ready?"
They'll all think I'm serious. Sigh.

He also knows the melody to the triple alleluia (the mode 6 simplex one everybody knows).

Of course, he also knows the melody to the chorus of Queen's "We Will Rock You," so we've got the profane covered as well as the sacred.

My son has now added to his repertoire Ave Verum Corpus , which he picked up from his big sisters, who are in my girls' schola.

very nice, it just goes to show you that these really aren't that hard and are memorable. We adults can learn something from this young lad. Great job dad.
