I know of a beautiful setting of Regina Coeli. It is listed as by a composer known only as 'M. Labat.' On the CPDL website it appears as anonymous. I am curious if anyone knows anything more about the composer or which hymnal it was originally published?
You must mean this, attributed to (Monsieur?) Labat on Youtube. The musica database however lists no such composer, nor do these persons seem likely. If the initials were CM or LM it would be clearer that we're dealing with a tune name instead ;-)
Yes Mr. Mix, the cpdl is the version I am discussing. I finally got it in 4-part!!! I'm still curious as to composer.hymnal etc. I am not certain, Mr. P. if it was used in a movie - you mention 1952; that is before I was born by about 28 years.
