These can be seen in many US Lowe's stores and are ideal. Lay them down and convert your carpeted choir loft back into reflective place to sing and play....
The reason I ask is because I sang for many years in a mid-19th century church with marvelous acoustics in a general sense - except that the place where the choir had to sing had stone floors covered directly with wood flooring (the stone was somewhat damaged, IIRC), and as a result the acoustical boost from the floor was meh. I believe the rector was told by acousticians that there needed to be space between the wood and the stone in order to get a better acoustical result.
Thanks, Noel. I'd been wondering about cheap solutions to the carpet problem. Unfortunately it's a moot point for me now as my position's being eliminated...oh well. Another time at another job.
