Bourgeois followed John Calvin to Geneva, Switzerland, in 1541. He became a cantor at the Church of St. Pierre, and edited the Genevan Psalter. At one point, he was jailed for modifying some well known tunes.
  • "My sweet Lord," Jeff, jailed? I thought one of his interlocutors read a statement in Louie's defense which included, and I quote: "He so's fine...(dooron dooron dooron.)"

    Sounds terribly Calvinist to me.

This is Ostrowski's way of threatening people who are considering doing some self-editing of the Vatican II Hymnal.
  • O come on! Doesn't anybody remember the great plagary scandal?

Haha . . . actually, I am certainly guilty of this from time to time.

Now this is what I call a successful hymnal:

"From 1860 to 1877, he was editor-in-chief of the Anglican Hymns Ancient and Modern, and contributed hymns, tunes, and translations. This historic hymnal sold 60 million copies."
